What is High Level Disinfection?

The trophon® EPR is a complete ultrasound High-Level Disinfection system that's fast, easy to use, environmentally friendly and quality assured.

Sterilisation De-contaminate objects that can transmit infection (e.g. items that enter sterile tissue)
High level disinfection (HLD) Complete elimination of all microorganisms in or on an instrument, except for small numbers of bacterial spores
Intermediate level disinfection Hospital grade disinfectants which kill tuberculosis
Low level disinfection: Areas frequently touched by hands can be achieved with household cleaning products

Infection Control and Efficacy Data

Both the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the US Food and Drug Administration recommend the use of hydrogen peroxide as a high-level disinfectant.

Hydrogen peroxide is active against:

  • bacteria
  • fungi
  • viruses

The efficacy of the trophon EPR has been confirmed through microbiological testing and validation at Nanosonics’ own laboratories and independent accredited laboratories. The testing has been performed to American, Canadian, Australian and European standards. The trophon EPR complies with all regulatory requirements.
