CORIS® System wins Gold at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards

The Nanosonics CORIS® System has been named a 2026 Australian Good Design Award Gold Winner in the Product Design - Medical & Scientific category.

Flexible endoscopes contain long, narrow and complex internal channels that can be difficult to clean using traditional manual methods. The CORIS System was developed to address that challenge with a new approach to internal channel cleaning.

At its heart is CORIS PULSS technology, which delivers controlled physical friction throughout internal channels, including those that cannot be manually brushed, helping create a more controlled and consistent approach to cleaning.

Established in 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards recognise excellence in design and innovation, with entries assessed through a rigorous evaluation process by an independent panel of design experts.

In awarding the CORIS System Gold, the Jury recognised it as “a highly innovative solution to a complex maintenance and hygiene challenge in healthcare”, highlighting the cross-disciplinary development behind the system and the years of market understanding and R&D involved. The Jury also commended the team for tackling the challenges of endoscope reprocessing and noted the potential to deliver meaningful benefits for both patient safety and clinical workflows.

For the teams behind the CORIS System, the Gold recognition is an exciting acknowledgement of the years of collaboration, engineering and problem-solving that went into turning a new idea into a real-world solution.
